Indian Institute of Technology, Tirupati, established in 2015, is one of the premier institutions established by the Government of India. The aim of the Institute is to provide meaningful education, to conduct original research of the highest standard and to provide leadership in technological innovation.
Currently, the Institute is functioning from its temporary campus on Tirupati-Renigunta road. The permanent campus is coming up in Yerpedu, Chittoor and will be functional from August 2018.
The Institute has four academic departments (Civil, Computer Science, Electrical and Mechanical). Academics set on sail in August 2015 with enrollment of students in B.Tech programme. M.S.(Research) and PhD programmes will be starting from January 2018 while M.Tech programme will commence from July 2018.
A faculty of international repute, a brilliant student community, excellent technical & supporting staff and an effective administration have all contributed to the rapid progress of IIT Tirupati.
Anfang 2k17 featured an eclectic mix of events and pro-shows, setting up the stage for a technical extravaganza spanning 2 days. The numerous workshops, pro-shows and lectures by eminent technocrats gave the visitors valuable insight into the realms of Science & Technology.
A total of 11 events, encompassing the fields of Computer Science, Robotics, Astronomy, Reasoning, Sociology, Gaming and Quizzing, constituted the core of the festival. All the events were competitive in nature, testing the participants of their skills and knowledge in the aforementioned disciplines.
Industry leading personalities delivered lectures on emerging technologies like Signal Processing in Real Time, Micro Air Vehicles, and Fresnel Technology. Students, Professors and Researchers, all alike attended the lectures and made full use of the opportunity to interact directly with the men behind technologies deciding the course of our future.
3 workshops - Glider Making by Skyfi-Labs; Ethical Hacking and Eye-Controlled Robotics by Robokart, were organized with the purpose of educating the attendees in hands-on application of Science.
“Pro-Shows” transpired to be the most eye-catching affair of the fest. “Garuda Drone Show” by Garuda Airspace introduced the audience to an array of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Further display of Drone dexterity by the Man of Drones, Mr. Raja Shekhar Selva, left the audience captivated.
The venerated presence of Professors, Researchers and over 850 students in our very first Technical festival is a testament to the immense effort put in by the organizers.
This grateful experience of contributing something to the society, the realisation of introducing curious souls to much-needed technological awareness, motivated us to recreate the magic and we are back with “Tirutsava” , all set to inspire and uplift the inquisitive Indian.
